I really wanted to like this book. It's about small-town Wisconsin and volunteer firefighting. And was in the biography/memoir section at B&N. But it really actually is more of a compilation of essays. Essays about being an EMT and firefighting. Not so much small town stuff but really when it comes down to it, I'm not a short-story, essay-compilation type of girl. I'm sure all the men in my life would like it. The book itself is written very well and there were a few little Wisconsin antidotes that made me smile but sadly that's it.
