The Glass Castle

It was written in such a way that you grew with the author. You knew her parents weren't doing what they should have been doing to raise their four children but the author, as a child didn't know that at the time. And you couldn't help but feel for the child and see her parents as she saw them, with good intentions.
This was a book that you cheered on the protagonist throughout, hoping that she would eventually be able to overcome all the obstacles life had handed her.
